Obstetrics and Gynecology

Whether you are seeking preventive care, evaluation and treatment of gynecologic health issues, or care during pregnancy and birth, our team of Obstetrics and Gynecology clinicians is here to partner with you in your healthcare journey.
We aim to provide you with all the necessary resources to guide you in your gynecologic care. Below, you will find detailed Health and Coverage topic pages that provide more information on gynecologic exams, what to do if you think you may be pregnant, birth control methods, and more. Regardless of where you are in your healthcare journey, Yale Health reminds you that you are not alone. If you need us, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Your Primary Gynecology Provider:
All Yale Health members and Graduate & Professional students who identify as needing gynecological care are assigned to a Primary Gynecology Provider in addition to their Primary Care Provider in Internal Medicine or Student Health. For continuity of care, we encourage you to schedule appointments with your assigned provider. Although undergraduate students are not assigned a Primary Gynecology Provider, those in need of care can schedule an appointment with any available clinician in our department. Please review your coverage documentation to see what services are available to you.
For Urgent Medical Concerns:
Call us and ask to speak with our triage nurses. We have appointments set aside to accommodate urgent concerns. We use a team approach, so there is always a provider available to care for you if your primary care provider (PCP) is not available.
For Non-urgent Concerns:
If you are seeking preventive care, inquiring about test results, requesting appointments, or have questions about birth control, STI screening, etc., you can send us a MyChart message or call us. Please be aware that MyChart messages are not monitored during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responses may take a few days.
After-hours and Weekends:
Triage nurses in Acute Care are always available by phone at (203) 432-0123 for urgent issues and will help determine if you need to come in for an evaluation.
