Sick or Injured? Call First

When you feel sick or have an injury, start by calling your primary care provider (Internal Medicine 203-432-0038, Ob/Gyn 203-432-0222, or Pediatrics 203-432-0206). A nurse will call you back to discuss your symptoms. If you need to come in, we can offer you a telemedicine or in-person visit on the same day or the next day that is convenient for you with your primary care provider or a member of your team.

In some cases, you may be advised to visit our Acute Care Department or Specialty Services at the Yale Health Center (55 Lock Street).

After hours and on weekends, the triage nurses in Acute Care are always available by phone to offer advice and help you determine if you need to come in for an evaluation.

Note about Pediatrics:
Our pediatric triage team is available by phone Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays, recess days, and holidays, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., our pediatric team of clinicians and nurses works on-site in Acute Care. As always, please call first; after hours, the Acute Care staff will contact the on-call pediatrician if necessary.
