Dr. Mark Silvestri chose to become an OB/GYN out of a passion for reproductive physiology, gynecologic surgery, and the strong, trusting relationships built with patients over time. He cares for the full spectrum of obstetric and gynecologic needs, with a special focus on complex gynecologic conditions such as abnormal bleeding (including heavy, painful, or prolonged periods), fibroids, ovarian cysts, vulvar disorders, infrequent or absent periods, and endometriosis.

He has performed hundreds of gynecologic surgeries, including hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, minor vulvar procedures, and both laparoscopic and vaginal hysterectomies. Dr. Silvestri takes a thoughtful, patient-centered, and personable approach to care. He believes patients know their bodies best and works to ensure they fully understand any condition they may be facing. His goal is to empower individuals with the information they need to make informed decisions and to remain available and supportive throughout the course of care; even if plans need to change.

When surgery is needed, Dr. Silvestri  is committed to helping patients feel informed, prepared, confident, and safe.

Originally from the greater Boston area, he has lived in Connecticut for nearly 20 years. Outside of work, he enjoys running, tennis, watching the Red Sox, and spending time with his wife and four children. He also finds yard work oddly enjoyable and aspires to become an amateur gardener someday—so he’s always open to tips.
