About Us

Welcome to the Student Health Department of Yale Health Center! While you are at Yale, we encourage you to take advantage of our clinical care and preventive services, and urge you to take an active role in your health care. We are committed to the health issues that are important to you.

Who can visit Student Health?

Access to Student Health is available to all Yale undergraduate and graduate students who are all automatically eligible for care. Upon your enrollment at Yale University, you automatically have access to Student Health services and are assigned a Primary Care Provider within our department.

What services does Student Health provide?

Through your Primary Care Provider in Student Health, you have access to routine physical examinations, sick visits, and other services.

Travel Health Services for Students are also provided in Student Health.

How can I contact Student Health?

If you think you might need us - call us or send us a message via MyChart for non-urgent clinical concerns! We are here to answer all of your health-related questions and concerns and help direct you to the best place for care or the right place to continue your care.

Messages sent via MyChart will be answered within 48 hours during business days (excluding weekends and holidays).

Call Student Health during operating hours. In the event that Student Health is closed, Acute Care offers Registered Nurse telephone triage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for clinical guidance and welcomes in-person visits from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., seven days a week.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or if on campus, the Yale University Police at 203-432-4400.

I need STI/STD testing. What should I do?

Routine testing: If you do not have symptoms and would like routine STI/STD testing, you can message the Student Health team to request testing without an appointment.

If you have symptoms or concerns: Call Student Health at 203-432-0312 or Ob/Gyn at 203-432-0222, or self-schedule an appointment for evaluation and testing.

Cost: STI/STD testing is free for all eligible students covered under Basic Student Health Services or Yale Health Hospitalization & Specialty Care Coverage

Can I see Student Health for acne concerns?

Yes, students can visit Student Health for acne concerns. Your Primary Care Provider (PCP) in Student Health can assist with routine care, including skin-related issues like acne. If needed, your PCP can also coordinate referrals to dermatology specialists under the Yale Health Hospitalization & Specialty Care Coverage plan.

You can schedule an appointment through MyChart or by calling Student Health directly.

What Travel Health services are available for Students?

Travel health services are not a covered benefit. You will be charged for travel consultations and travel immunizations at Yale Health and all other locations. We strongly encourage you to use travel consult services through Student Health at Yale Health, as 3rd parties may not carry all the vaccines you need. Travel health services are also offered locally at CVS Minute Clinics or Concentra in New Haven.
