Maria Guzman, PsyD

Dr. Maria Guzman initially joined Yale Health in 2023. She serves as the first embedded clinical sport psychologist in the Yale Athletics Department and works with Yale’s student-athletes, varsity teams, and coaches. Prior to joining Yale Health Mental Health & Counseling Dr. Guzman was a postdoctoral fellow and clinician at Princeton University’s Counseling and Psychological Services. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Indianapolis and completed an internship at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. 

Dr. Guzman enjoys working with college populations and their psychosocial stressors. She integrates insight-oriented psychotherapy with behavioral approaches to treat mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and athletic eating and body-image concerns.
