Immunization

The Immunization Department gives vaccinations to adult Yale Health members and all university students. Some vaccines are not given to certain age groups or to individuals with certain medical conditions.

The following vaccines can be given:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • HPV
  • Influenza
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella
  • Meningococcal A
  • Meningococcal B
  • Pneumococcal
  • Polio (IPV)
  • RSV (respiratory syncytial virus)
  • Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis
  • Varicella (chicken pox)
  • Zostavax (shingles)
  • PPD (tuberculosis skin test)

All vaccinations are currently by appointment only. When your provider orders immunizations for you, please call the Immunization Department at 203-432-8797 to schedule an appointment.

You can still receive immunizations if you are ill with a mild cold. But, if you have a fever you should not receive immunizations.

Prior to all injections, the nurse will provide you with a vaccine information sheet for all the immunizations you are about to receive. The most common side effect is soreness at the site of the injection.

New incoming students have immunization requirements. Please review these requirements on the forms page.
