Sick or Injured? Call First

When you feel sick or have an injury, start with a phone call to your primary care provider (Internal Medicine 203-432-0038, Ob/Gyn 203-432-0222 or Pediatrics 203-432-0206). A nurse will call you back to discuss your symptoms. If you need to come in, we can offer you a telemedicine or in-person visit, the same-day or next-day that is convenient for you with your primary care provider or a member of your team.

In some cases, you may be advised to come to our Acute Care Department or to Specialty Services at the Yale Health Center (55 Lock Street).

After-hours and on weekends, the triage nurses in Acute Care are always available by phone, to offer advice and can help you determine if you need to come in for an evaluation.

Note about Pediatrics:
Our pediatric triage team is available by phone Monday through Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm. After hours the Acute Care staff will contact the on-call pediatrician if necessary. A pediatric clinician is available in Acute Care to see patients with acute problems from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays and 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sundays and holidays.
