Welcome to Yale Health!
My name is Camilla Luker and I am your Student Health Care Navigator at Yale Health! Whether you are a new student on campus or continuing your studies, I am here to help you navigate your Yale Health benefits and health care. I recognize that insurance and healthcare can be tricky, but I want to help you access the care you need while in the Yale community. You can reach out or schedule a time to meet with me whenever you have questions!
Key Point: All of your health care is provided and managed by Yale Health at 55 Lock Street. Go through the Student Checklist below and contact me if you ever have any questions about Yale Health!
Student Checklist
- Sign up for MyChart, your personal health record and online connection to your medical home. Update your demographics to help us better understand you as an individual and ensure we have your accurate information.
- Complete a request to access protected health information form so we can request your medical records from your previous provider. This helps streamline your care with your new providers here at Yale Health.
- If currently on medications, contact your previous provider to have them send a prescription to the Yale Health Pharmacy to continue until you meet with your primary care physician. If you are in urgent need of prescription medications, please call Student Health.
- Contact Student Health and schedule a wellness visit to establish care. This provider can give you referrals for any specialists you may need (Allergy, Cardiology, ENT, Neurology, etc.) if you have not waived Hospitalization/Specialty Care Coverage.
- Download your Member ID card in case you ever need care outside of Yale Health*.
- If you have the Hospitalization/Specialty Care Coverage, read through your Schedule of Benefits and keep the Student Guide handy to refer to as needed.
- Contact me anytime you have questions or need help understanding and navigating your health coverage.
*Referrals are required for accessing care outside of the Yale Health Center at 55 Lock Street, except for hospitalization and emergency care. In case of emergency, please call 911 and go to the nearest emergency room.
Please note that Yale Health is not the same as Yale Medicine or Yale New Haven Hospital. All Yale Health providers are at the Yale Health Center at 55 Lock Street in New Haven.
