Expecting a Baby?
We are available to talk with you by appointment before delivery. Many new parent questions and concerns are addressed in Yale New Haven Hospital’s Breastfeeding Class, which is held virtually.
A Yale Health pediatrician will visit and examine your baby within 24 hours of their birth. We will see you every day that you are in the hospital.
We like to see most babies soon after they leave the hospital so that we may assess weight gain, perform an examination, and address any questions you have. You will be contacted by a member of our department, either in the hospital or soon after discharge, who will assist you in making follow-up appointments.
After the initial visit, appointments during the first year typically occur at 2 weeks and then at 2, 4, 6, 9 and 12 months.
