Dr. Paul Hoffman initially joined Yale Health in 2007. He became the Associate Chief of Clinical Affairs in 2018 and then the Chief of Mental Health and Counseling in 2020. Prior to joining the staff, Dr. Hoffman was a postdoctoral associate at Yale Mental Health and Counseling. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Tennessee and completed an internship at the Yale School of Medicine working at the Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital.
Dr. Hoffman has devoted his career to specializing in treating college students. His clinical interests include anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, phobias, and personality disorders. He integrates psychodynamic psychotherapy with behavioral and cognitive behavioral approaches.
