Dr. Melissa Morrison joined Yale Health in 2021 as a Staff Psychologist. Prior to joining the staff, Dr. Morrison was a postdoctoral fellow at Tufts University’s Counseling and Mental Health Services. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology at William James College and completed a two-year internship at Clark University’s Center for Personal Growth. She completed an advanced practicum placement as a clinical intern at Emerson College’s Counseling and Psychological Services. Prior to this, she received her M.A. in mental health counseling at Boston College and completed an internship at Boston College in the Office of Health Promotion.

Dr. Morrison has devoted her training and career to specializing in the treatment of college students. Her clinical interests include anxiety disorders, perfectionism, interpersonal relationship dynamics, identity development, and supporting those who are distrustful of counseling or have had negative experiences with mental health treatment. She integrates humanistic approaches into her treatment style as well as cognitive behavioral approaches.
