Kim Brenner initially joined Yale Health in 2001.  Before becoming a Staff Therapist, she completed a two year post graduate fellowship at Yale Health’s Mental Health and Counseling.  She received her Master of Social Work at Columbia University and is an advanced training fellow at the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.

Kim Brenner works with students struggling with anxiety, depression as well as intimacy and relationship issues. She also specializes in working with students struggling with chaotic eating patterns, eating disorders, as well as body-image dissatisfaction. She strives to create a safe and non-judgmental environment for students utilizing a myriad of approaches including cognitive behavioral techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) strategies, mindfulness, as well as a psychodynamic framework to meet the needs of each individual. Kim is a clinical supervisor and teaches a yearly seminar on eating disorders to post graduate fellows and psychiatry residents at Yale Health.  She is the Eating Disorder Coordinator at the clinic.
