Dr. Herzig began working at Yale Health in 2022 where she provides psychotherapy to students, co-teaches the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) seminar to trainees, and co-leads the CBT peer supervision group for her colleagues. She is also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Yale Gender Program. Before coming to Yale, Dr. Herzig was a tenured Associate Professor of Psychology at Plymouth State University where she taught, ran a research lab on worry and bystander prevention for sexual violence, and advised PSU Pride, the LGBTQ+ student organization. She also provided trainings on LGBTQ+ issues and suicide prevention as well as clinical supervision to CBT clinicians. While earning her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Herzig trained at the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Institute of Living and worked in research on ADHD at the Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center and Massachusetts General Hospital. She completed her predoctoral internship at Children's National and her postdoctoral fellowship at the Child Study Center at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Dr. Herzig is passionate about working with college students, especially those who are LGBTQ+, neurodiverse, and/or experiencing anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or phobias. Her work is processed-based, grounded in the therapeutic relationship, and utilizes CBT, exposure and response prevention, dialectical behavior therapy skills, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Dr. Herzig is a Health at Every Size practitioner and actively strives to be anti-racist and affirming of all genders and identities in her work.
