Ethan Smith joined Yale Health as a postgraduate fellow in 2010 and joined the staff in 2011. He received his M.S.W. from Southern Connecticut State University and completed a fellowship through the Yale Department of Psychiatry at Yale Behavioral Health Services in Hamden prior to joining Yale Health’s Mental Health & Counseling. During his degree program, he also completed an internship at Southern Connecticut State's student counseling center as he pursued his interest in college mental health.
With a background primarily in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Ethan's clinical interests include complex trauma, anxiety, grief, and identity development, particularly for those within marginalized groups. He is trained in Eye Movement, Desensitization, & Reprocessing (E.M.D.R.).
