Dr. Aurora M. Casta joined Yale Health in 2021. Originally from Puerto Rico, she received her medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico Medical School. Dr. Casta obtained her adult psychiatry and child-adolescent training at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Prior to joining Yale Health, she was a Staff Psychiatrist at the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Casta has interests in developmental issues, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, applications of mindfulness for mental health benefits, Native American communities, and specific issues pertaining to international students in US universities. Her style is developmental, humanistic and contextual, weaving into her work cognitive behavioral therapy, systems therapy and mindfulness.
