Mindfulness and Meditation
Stressed? Trouble sleeping? Burnt out? You’ve come to the right place!
Mindfulness is a way of being fully present with whatever is happening. It’s a skill which can be cultivated through meditation and other practices. According to Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, the creator of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program which introduced mindfulness to Western medicine in the late 1970’s, mindfulness is “paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally.” Mindfulness and other meditation practices have been shown to decrease stress, improve sleep quality, increase compassion towards oneself and others, and improve overall well-being. You’re invited to try the resource that feels right for you.
