Your stay in inpatient care

If you are transferred to Yale Health Inpatient Care from the hospital we will arrange transportation for you. You do not need to bring your medications with you, unless otherwise instructed. But you should bring a list of the medications that you take.

During your stay in Inpatient Care your healthcare team consists of our staff physicians and PA’s, nurses, and certified nursing assistants. We will work with you and your family to design a plan of care individualized to you. We will involve other members of the Yale Health staff as needed to promote your recovery and be in contact with your primary care provider about your progress.

Entertainment

Each room has wireless internet (YaleGuest), a cable television (guide) and a private land line phone.

Visitors

Your family and friends are welcome to visit you during your stay. Visiting hours are 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, 7 days a week.

Meals

We provide three meals a day for our patients. Gluten-free and kosher options are available.

Discharge

The average length of stay is 2-4 days. However, your length of stay is determined by the clinical team based on medical necessity and progress made during your stay.  Your discharge will be based on your care plan.
