Dr. Kathlene Tracy joined Yale Health in 2022.  She became the Director of Substance Use Disorder Treatment at Yale Health Mental Health and Counseling in 2024.  Dr. Tracy has over three decades of experience developing and delivering addiction and psychiatric treatments while in joint clinical and research positions at notable academic institutions and their affiliated healthcare systems leading services within inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.  Because of her expertise in measurement, design, training, and behavioral treatments, she has been an active member of several NIH/NIDA, SAMHSA, and PCORI national committees and initiatives to advance and guide the field in addition to being a part of various international collaborations. Dr. Tracy has received Stage I and Stage II behavioral therapies development funding from multiple sources including NIDA and NIAAA as well as funding from other federal/state agencies for innovative projects.  She obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology from the New School for Social Research and completed her internship and postdoctoral training within the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. 

Throughout Dr. Tracy’s career, she has been devoted to improving the wellbeing of others through assisting them in overcoming the hurdles life presents with a patient centered care approach.  She is well versed in a vast array of behavioral interventions to address a wide range of psychiatric and substance use conditions, including behavioral trauma, tailoring her treatment approach to meet individual needs.
