Dr. Samantha Ojeda is a first-generation, bilingual Latina clinician dedicated to serving underserved communities. She joined Yale Health in 2023 as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Mental Health and Counseling department. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Alliant International University and completed her internship at the Yale School of Medicine's Clinica Hispana. Dr. Ojeda's professional focus revolves around underserved communities, including undocumented immigrants and mixed-status families. Her experience includes working with multicultural and multilingual individuals, children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, and survivors of human trafficking. Furthermore, she has provided therapy to adults with acute/severe mental illness in residential settings.

With extensive experience in therapy for predominantly Spanish-speaking clients, Dr. Ojeda directs her clinical and research efforts toward understanding the impact of immigration policy, deportation, and cultural factors on mental health, particularly within the Latine community. Her clinical interests include anxiety, depressive, and trauma disorders. Dr. Ojeda adopts a person-centered/humanistic and decolonized approach to therapy, integrating cognitive-behavioral techniques, trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic interventions, and cultural competency into her practice.
