Dr. David N. Assis is a hepatologist at Yale who specializes in autoimmune liver diseases such as autoimmune hepatitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, and primary biliary cholangitis. As co-director of the Yale Autoimmune and Cholestatic Liver Diseases Program, he also treats liver and digestive complications related to cystic fibrosis, providing patients with both cutting-edge care and compassionate support throughout their medical journey.
 
An assistant professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Assis is dedicated to researching the causes and treatments of rare autoimmune liver conditions. He recieved the Kushlan Junior Faculty Award amongst other recognition for this work and plays an active role in national and international liver disease research groups.
 
Dr. Assis remains hopeful about the future of liver disease treatment, contributing to progress through both clinical care and research. He serves on advisory committees for several organizations and continues to lead efforts aimed at developing innovative therapies for these complex conditions.
