Endoscopy

Yale Health Endoscopy provides lower gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures for Yale Health members and students with Yale Health Hospitalization/Specialty Care coverage. A referral from your primary care provider is required.

Plan to be with us for about 2-3 hours from arrival to discharge.

Be sure to follow our instructions given via MyChart and during the telephone call with the nurse. Remember, there will be diet and possible medication modifications depending on your procedure. A few weeks before your test, a nurse from the Endoscopy Department will contact you to review instructions and place the required prescriptions. We are here to support you throughout each stage of this process.

You must arrange for a family member or friend to pick you up at the Endoscopy Suite after your procedure. The medication given during the exam may cause drowsiness, making driving home or taking public transportation alone unsafe.

If there are any complications after your procedure, please get in touch with Yale Health Acute Care at 203-432-0123

A late cancellation/no-show fee will apply if appropriate notice is not provided. Visit the Late Cancellation/No Show Fees page to review details.
