Schedule Your COVID-19 Vaccine

Scheduling your vaccine at Yale Health

The Yale Vaccine program provides updated COVID-19 vaccinations between September and February every year. Outside of this timeframe:

  • Adult Yale Health members may contact the Immunization Department or schedule directly through MyChart.
  • All pediatric patients, ages 6 months through 18 years will receive the COVID-19 vaccine in the Pediatrics Department by appointment. Please call the Pediatric Department at 203-432-0206 or send a My Chart message to schedule your child’s COVID vaccine in the Pediatric Department, as no additional pediatric clinics will take place.
  • Staff with Spouses or dependents of Yale employees who are not Yale Health members can schedule their appointment through the many options available across the state.

Scheduling your vaccine at an outside pharmacy

If you are unable to find an appointment that meets your needs, you may schedule an appointment with an outside retail pharmacy (e.g., CVS, Walgreens, etc.), and Yale Health will cover the cost. Use of outside pharmacies is limited to COVID-19 vaccination.

It will be necessary to use your Yale Health insurance coverage, therefore you must bring or print out your Yale Health insurance card to present to the pharmacy. They will bill Yale Health directly. You can access a copy of your card. Additionally, for patients who purchased a COVID vaccination prior to 10/1/23, you can submit for reimbursement through the Pharmacy’s direct member reimbursement claim form.

Guidance for employees with other insurance

  • Employees with Aetna insurance may seek vaccination through the Aetna network.

IN ADDITION:

  • Free parking and a bicycle rack are available in the Lock Street garage.
  • Bring a photo ID and insurance card with you to your vaccine appointment.
  • Children should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the time of their vaccination. Parents and legal guardians should bring a form of ID and child’s insurance card if available.
  • You may be asked to stay for at least 15 minutes of observation after receiving the vaccine.
