How long is a typical stay in Inpatient Care?

The average length of stay is 2-4 days. However, your length of stay is determined by the clinical team based on medical necessity and progress made during your stay.  Your discharge will be based on your care plan.

How do I get from the hospital to Inpatient Care?

If you are admitted from the hospital to Inpatient Care, transportation will be arranged for you.

Can my family and friends visit me in Inpatient Care?

Yes.  Visiting hours are 11:00 am-8:00 pm, 7 days a week.

Should I bring my medications with me to Inpatient Care?

No, but you should bring a list of all the medications you are taking.

Will my primary care clinician visit me in Inpatient Care?

No, the clinical team in Inpatient Care will provide your care during your stay, but will be in contact with your primary care clinician about your progress.

Is there wireless Internet access in Inpatient Care?

Yes.  The Yale Health Center offers wireless Internet access through YaleGuest.  There is also cable television and a private phone in each room.
